A Very Fun Day

This is the WILD Kingdom

It has been a very busy day at our house. We started out with Paige waking up vomiting. My wonderful friend Gina took my son to the homeschooling field trip and as you can see they had lots of fun. By 9:30 I had taken Paige in to the doctor's office and she was given a clean bill of health. (they said she had post nasal drip) . At 9:00am Grandpa had arrived to start his day on the basement and by 11:30am Paige had settled in for her four hour nap. The house was soooo quiet mom was not sure what to do next. After Quin arrived home and told me all about his exciting time. We had a little time to work on some of our Master's Club homework and do some reading for fun. After dinner Grandpa took Quin to the YMCA to go swimming. It was a full day.
Up date on Rodney. Rod was able to come home today. He is on complete and total bed rest. A nurse comes to the house once a day to give him medication in his pic-line. He will be on bed rest for two weeks. Thank You everyone for your prayers. It looks like he is responding to meds very well and will not loose his leg. PRAISE THE LORD!!

When Grandpa comes tomorrow he plans to turn the water off so I better finish loading the dishwasher.

Decisions are to be Made

Up date on Rodney. We were so excited to see Rod's temp break and then this morning a specialist came in his room and said if he wanted to keep his leg they were going to have to put a pic-line in his heart. This is a very painful procedure and can be dangerous, but we know that the Lord knows what He's doing. Rodney's sweet wife is a new Christian and it's neat to see her faith grow through all of this. I love to be around new Christians they keep you fresh in the Lord. Please keep praying for Rod I know the Lord will have his perfect will in our lives.

We are all so excited. We are going on the home school field trip tomorrow. We have worked very hard at school today and I think it has been a success. I'm looking forward to tonight we are having company for dinner and the kids will enjoy playing. Grandpa is back working on the basement and everyone is napping. We have so may things coming up to look forward too. I 'm encouraged to be a part of something so exciting.

Rodney

I just got a call Rod has had a normal temp of 99.1 for six hours so far PRAISE THE LORD. The swelling in his leg is starting to go down and he is starting to feel a little better. The doctor has said he will have a few more days in the hospital. Thanks you everyone for your prayers. PRAYER WORKS THANK YOU LORD.

Sunday Nights

Sunday nights at our house are filled with all kinds of different emotions and feelings. On one hand it's very sad because the weekend is over. Daddy has to go back to work tomorrow and we love having daddy home. On the other hand we have had a wonderful day of spiritual filling and we talk about how much we love our church. We take pleasure in the fact that the Lord has allowed us to serve Him another week. But with Sunday comes Monday, I don't know what it is but Sunday afternoons are usually kind of lazy around here. When Sunday night after church hits mom goes into a early Monday morning mode. I'm tired from a long day, but I find myself looking at the things happening this week. Organizing lesson plan for school, making list for the weeks shopping, gathering my duster and vacuum, setting out clothes, I have even been caught doing laundry to get a "jump on the week". I don't know why I do this but I always have a probably always will. I love Sundays and I love church.
I have to tell you something "cute" that my daughter did at breakfast this morning she had dripped a little bit of milk on the table. She got out of her chair went and got a clean towel out of the drawer and wiped up the milk. I was very proud of her for doing that but at the same times I began to feel very convicted. My husband said that she gets that from me. That nice but what else has she picked up from me. Just remember ladies that our little people watch EVERYTHING we do good and bad. That is a very soul searching thought. Have a great week.

Soulwinning with Tanner

I just love Tanner. This morning we arrived at church and that sweet little face was there waiting with utmost excited. Jumping up and down with all his might Tanner said "I get to go soulwinng with Miss Todd and then I get a candy bar. Tanner loves to go soulwinng. If every member of the Grace Baptist Church was as excited about soulwinning as Tanner is we could change the history of Lockport and the surrounding areas is one week. I too enjoy soulwinning but often Tanner will convict me because of his desire to see someone come to the door. That little man whats to ring the door bell and the second someone comes to the door he BOLDLY says "WERE FROM GRACE BAPTIST CHURCH ---CAN YOU COME. He then looks at my husband or myself as if to say you take it from here. Tanner is a good example of the child like faith the Bible talks about. I'm thankful that Brother Larry and his family have to desire to train little Tanner to be a soulwinner. (I'm thankful for the extra car seat in my van). Tanner is thankful for the candy bar. We are very blessed to be Sunday School teachers and to have Tanner in our class. And may someday he will get big enough to remember to stay out of the snow off the grass or the flowers. I LOVE YOU TANNER.

Fun Fun Friday

Today was a fun day for the kids. After we took our spelling test we were able to have Jenna Lindahl (she is so excited that she is on the blog) over for the day to play. The kids had a blast in the up stairs bathroom they had army men on almost every surface that they could. With a double sink they had water in the sinks and tanks ready for battle . After that was complete they got the Tupperware containers and made cages for all the plastic animals. I of course, had to visit the best zoo since Brookfield. Each "cage" was carefully planned to house the different animals. All this is difficult when you have toddlers who want to "help you get things done. To fix the toddler problem the kids locked the door and you could only enter with the secert password (SONIC). I was very thankful I had the password. The children had fun and so did I.
The Lord has answered all the prayers in regards to Rodney. The discovered today that Rod has celluliteus. This is a infection in the skin and flesh. It is very painful and hard to treat. Rod will be on two weeks of IV drugs and outpatient treatment for a while. We are so excited that it is not cancer and that it can be treated. THANK YOU FOR ALL THE PRAYERS!!!! God does answer prayer. It has been another full day. Good night.

Up Dates on Rodney

Today has been a day where to whole families faith has been tried. Rod fever is going up and down. It will go down to 99.4 and then in one hour go back up to 104.3. His heart is doing better but will still race occasionally . His blood pressure is still high and he has been given a lot of drugs to help him rest. He can't have any visitors and we are still praying. If he doesn't make some changes soon they will have to transfer him to a different hospital where he can get more specialized care. Please continue to pray for him.
Today we finished our Science book today. We do a half of the year History and a half Science. Quin is looking forward to starting History tomorrow. It amazing to me how the Lord just knows what we need. With our family going through all the medical issues that we are facing right now. I have really been able to use what miss Julie is teaching us about staying fill up. In the past all this going on would have done me in. Kina's blog about stress has been so helpful as well. (thanks Kina what a blessing you are). I'm just thankful that the Lord give you the tools to use when you need them. I'm focusing this week on staying filled up so I can pour out to my family and my brother's family as well. IICor 12:9 says it all. Praise the Lord.

What a Busy Day

Well it's very late and I really should be sleeping but I can't. This is one of those times when you lay down and your mind starts racing. So instead of trying to sleep I thought maybe I could blog and that would wear me out. We got home of church and I had a friend call me with a question and then I put two loads of laundry away and than I checked other blogs and now I don't know where to even start.
First thing this morning my mom called to tell me that my brother was really sick. While I was on the phone with my mom OUR daughter went up the stairs with a box of Cheerios and threw them down the stairs by the handfuls screaming WEEEEE. After I cleaned that up ,my son decided that he forgot how to borrow in subtraction and that he was tired of trying. After that we had my daughter call my girlfriend in North Carolina on my cell phone that she found in my purse, a long with the lip stick that she painted her eyes with. I then talked to the hospital to set up Paige's surgery (which is Feb.23). Then it was time to make lunch.
We worked on Quinten's story for the Young Author's night that the homeschoolers are doing. Then it was time for daddy to come home. I had just a few minutes so I thought I would start dinner and file some papers in our safe that we gave each other for Christmas (that tells you how far behind I am on that project.) Quniten practiced piano and then we ate dinner.
Back to my brother, he is in the hospital. His blood pressure is way to high and his heart is racing as well as he has a high fever. This makes him very weak. The doctors are not sure what is wrong yet, but they do suspect that he has a infection in his luff glands. He had cancer about 10 years ago and had "luffs" removed and that leg is very sore. I will keep you posted on that. Please keep him in your prayers.
Pastor had a wonderful message in church tonight on the role of a man and a woman. I LOVE our Pastor ,he works so hard on the things he prepares to teach us every week. What a special privilege it is to be apart of GBC . Well now that I have bored every one to tears about our family happenings I guess Paige has the right idea Good Night to one and all God Bless you all.

A Blessed Day

Today has been a good day. The Lord has put his arms around me today. My father in-law is still here working on the basement and it is fun to watch the walls go up. After I got up this morning I had my coffee and I was reading my Bible and a friend that I wasn't excepting pulled in my driveway. She was such a blessing to me. We visited, the kids played, and she even helped Quin work on his Math and Spelling. When she left I gave her a big hug and thanked her for coming and the Holy Spirit said to me softly "I sent her to encourage you today". I'm thankful that the Lord blessed me and I'm thankful that this time I was able to listen to His voice. It does make me wonder how many times I have missed that still small voice. Just a thought!!

I'm Trying to trust the Lord

Well, we went to the doctor today and Paige needs another surgery. The tubes in her ears have fallen down into ear drum. (instead of falling out). The doctor thinks that her Adonises may also need to come out this time. I know the Lord is in control. I also know that she is going to be OK. We have done this before and I even know what to expect. But Satan is whispering in my ear that my baby is facing her second surgery and she is not even 2 years old. Please pray that I will have a calm spirit about this and that the Lord will guide the doctors hands and our baby will be better because of modern medicine. We knew when Paige came to us that we would face difficulty and if this is all that we have to handle as parents we are still VERY VERY VERY blessed. We knew God saved Paige especially for us. I guess today is the first day of this news and I just need to relax and let this sink in a little. I could be typing that she is having her 16th surgery in two years. It is only two. Thank You Lord!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a fun day at the Wal-mart

Today was a very busy day. Shopping, doctor's appointments and errands. I have something that I have wanted since it can out and today my husband bought it for me. My family laughs at me because I get excited about the strangest things. Today we bought the AUTOMATIC SHOWER CLEANER from Scrubbling Bubbles. You can laugh at me if you want, to but if your job is to clean for a living you want anything you can get to make your life easier. I'm very excited and very thankful that I have a husband that not only meets my needs but he meets my wants as well. When Lysol came out with the toilet brush that had the cleaner in the handle I got pretty excited about that too. In fact I became so excited that I accidentally sprayed my husband in the face with toilet cleaner. (I felt so bad). I'm trying real hard to contain my self this time.

EDDIE, EDDIE. EDDIE

Well since you have met everyone else in the family I guess it's time to introduce the dog. I have to tell you personally I'm not the dogs biggest fan. He has bad breath, he is just one more thing in this house to keep clean, and he can be very loud is some one is here that does not belong. BUT BOTH MY CHILDREN AND MY HUSBAND LOVE HIM VERY MUCH. The dog seems to love me the best out of all the family members. Poor things has no idea how I really feel about him. Eddie came to live with us when my grandfather passed away. My Grandmother was a very smart woman, she asked us to take Eddie at the viewing of Grandpa body. (a very tenderhearted and weak time for me). Eddie is a very protective and loving animal but I'm still not convinced that he is worth all the work. As I learned this morning in Ladies Bible Study when it comes to having a dog it's not about me it's about serving my family. (Sorry Boston I'm just not a dog lover). I can take comfort in the saying that children that grow up with dogs turn out to be more responsible and caring people. My prayer is that God will allow me to use this dog to train my children to take care of something even if it is that silly dog.

Master's Club Awards

Last night it was very hard for Quinten to go to sleep. We have our first ribbon from Master's Club! As a mom it is such a joy to see your children achieve success. In our house, we just love Master's Club because of the way it builds a strong foundation to everything our family believes in. Mom and dad are sooo proud of Quinten and alll the hard work he has put in to Master's Club that we decided to celebrate his first ribbon with steak on the grill for dinner. Sam so graciously stood out in the snow and grilled for us. What a nice husband I have to endure the elements of a "mini" winter storm on behalf of his family. Quinten is so proud of the ribbon he has not even noticed that it is pink!

STOP EATING

I don't know what is wrong with me today. I'm having one of those days where I could eat my way through the pantry. I can't even blame this one on PMS. My husband has a rule that there is no eating or drinking by the computer and that is the only thing that is saving me right now. I'm reading this great book but I have to tell you right now all the wonderful things in this book are not helping me today. I have COW syndrome I just keep greasing and greasing. It's not that I am eating things that are bad for me, I just have not stopped eating since I woke up this morning. I can't wait to go to church tonight because church is a wonderful place to get renewed and they usually don't serve food on Wednesday night. I'm going to make dinner and get my family ready for church. I did get a lot done today . This is the last day of construction for this week and tomorrow is my favorite of the week. I can only pray that the Lord will give me the self -control that I need to get through tomorrow.

Day 2 Of Construction

Well it is day two of the construction. The wall framing has begun. It is so exciting. School is going very well because Quinten is very motivated to get it done so that he can "help" grandpa. We just love having Grandpa for lunch everyday. Paige and I are trying to get used to all of the sawing and hammering (especially durning Paige's afternoon nap). Paige is feeling much better PRAISE THE LORD!!!! We will talk to the doctor about the condition of her tubes on Monday the 22nd. Please pray for that appointment. It has been a full day with lots to be done. I guess I need to go ad mister baths. It is Tuesday.

I'm not sure what is wrong????

We have had blog difficulties. I thought I would try again tonight and for what ever reason it is letting my post (go figure). Well any way I just got home from a wonderful homeschooling meeting and our week is under way. We serve a awesome God. My unspoken prayer has been completely answered and construction has begun in the basement. Wow what a wonderful weekend the birthday boy had. We are looking forward to all the exciting things happening around here. The Lord has so richly blessed our family already this year I just can't help but praise Him. It is so fun to be a Christian It's not always easy but it sure is rewarding and fun. It is great to be back blogging and we will see if I can get on tomorrow. May the Lord bless you all.

Well it's Thursday..(my favorite day of the week). I have finally taken a shower and I'm dressed. It's time to plan the weekend and we have a exciting on a head of us. The Lord has begun to answer my unspoken prayer (from Bible Study Friday). All in HIS perfect timing. Back to the weekend. Saturday is Sam's birthday and the kids and I are planning a perfect list of surprises. Friday night all the Todd side of the family is coming for dinner. Saturday morning is Men's Prayer Breakfast while Paige and I are going to clean Grandma Edith's house (that happens every two weeks). Saturday night we have a babysitter coming and Sam and I are going out to dinner. I just love our date night and it has been a while since we have been out.
I'm sorry I have not been able to commet on anyones blog. When I try to commet I'm told to verify my account by e-mail but I never got any e-mail from Google . If anyone can help let me know. I have read all the blogs and I love each and every one of them.

I Love Homeschooling

I just love homeschooling. Today we started a new spelling list. The theme of our list was jungle words. Quinten is very creative and he decided he would make our basement a jungle. With vines hanging from the ceiling and coordinating blankets for moss and grass we have a jungle. We of cource have to have stuffed animals everywhere and little boys to make all the correct noises. With a blue blanket for the river and his dad's favorite pillow for the foot bridge you can walk safely anywhere you want to go. This has been alot of fun. I would like to see a traditional school top that. He wasn't very happy when a told him we have to tear it down after his dad sees it. We have company coming this weekend.

BECKA BECKA BECKA

I am so blessed to a Sunday School teacher at GBC. I just love Becka. The hugs, the smiles and that fact that no matter happens to Becka she smiles. We can all learn alot from Becka. She is the kind of kid that makes everyone around her smile. She loves and excepts everyone and she always no matter what is going on in her day she smiles. I love You Becka. I thank the Lord for giving me the privilege to be a part of Becka's life and to be her Sunday School teacher.

Busy and Productive

Mondays are busy days at the Todd's. Paige usually has speech and Quinten has a full day at school. New book to read, new spelling list and so forth. Today Paige is still not feeling up to speech and because she just wants to be held we did not get as much school done as we had hoped. I had a doctor's appointment of my own during nap time and I came home to a very special treat. My mother and father-in-law were at the house measuring my basement. We are just about to finish the other side of the basement for Quinten's bedroom. Construction is about to begin. It will be alot of fun. Lots of food and coffee will be avaibile at my house through the whole project. Come on by.

Round UP Sunday

Round up Sunday this year for us, turned out be be a little different this year. Instead of getting ready to enjoy a day of great preaching, food and fellowship I found myself standing at the Nursery door "rounding up" my sick daughter and gathering my family to the van and off to the doctor. I was very thankful we were able to teach Sunday School before we had to leave. ( We both just LOVE our little Sunday School class). All they way to immediate care she screamed in a lot of pain. All though is was only 15 mins. it seemed like hours. After being seen by the doctor it was determined that the tubes in Pagie's ear have grown out and are no longer preventing ear infections. Not only does Paige have a ear infection but she needed a medication because her lungs are full and she has a hard time breathing. She is actually to little to say she has asthma but mommy knows the truth. We were given 4 different medications and after they are finished she will be just fine. What we need is a good solid freeze and all the mold to die down. We are very thankful for modern medicine and what a help it has been for our precious little girl. Thank you for all your prayers today. Although it can be scary at times. We are VERY blessed. Paige is very crabby, tired and clingy. Sam and I didn't want to put our wonderful nursery through a sick baby again tonight . I 'm disappointed that sissy and I will miss church but I think it is for the best. Well I need to go get my guys ready for the evening service.

A Very Long Day

Today has been a long day. I have been gone all day at a out of town meeting. I didn't like the meeting and I really missed my family while I was gone. At about 4:00 my family came up and joined me and we went to Rain Forest Cafe for dinner. The kids loved that ( I thought it was fun too I guess I'm a kid at heart). I have a wonderful husband. I'm very thankful he took care of Paige and Quinten for me all day . While I was gone they went and bought a new printer for the computer (Thank You Grandma for the Christmas money). Now Daddy has a new toy and Mommy as to learn how to use another piece of equipment (Pray for me I don't learn that kind of stuff very fast). It was a busy day and both the kids were in bed and asleep by 8:15pm WOW. Everyone in our house is very excited about Round Up Sunday and Quin decided the sooner that he went to bed the faster Sunday would be here. Well I better go to bed as well.. Good Night

What a Deal/ What a Steal

What a fun evening we had last night. As the kids went swimming I was able to pick up some "mommy" time and run a few errands. I ran into Kohls and found a jean shirt for $8.40. WHAT A BLESSING not just to find a jean skirt that fits, but a reasonable jean shirt that fits.

We than ran into Cracker Barrel for coffee and they has 70% off all their Christmas items. I picked up two 22oz Yankee candles for $6.90 each. The candles are Home for the Holidays and Punmkin Pie. What a Blessing. Who doesn't like a good smelling Yankee Candle. God is so good He is all the time providing me with fun things that fit my budget. THANK YOU LORD.

Doing This for day Two

Well I can't believe it I actually have a blog. 2007 is going to be the year that I learn how to use this computer if it kills me. It's Thursday my favorite day of the week (well maybe this week). Last night was so exciting my son received two badges in Master's Club and we will be getting a few more soon. We are looking forward to the penny parade. Well anyway back to Thursdays. On Thursdays we allow the kids to sleep in because they often get to bed much later on Wednesday. So on Thursday we change sheets and get ready for the weekend. With Friday being Bible Study we need to have all our weekend plans as far as meals ect. done. Today we will clean the house for the weekend, finish up the laundry, and hopefully finish the book we are reading about Tom Sawyer. Also Thursday is the day that Grandpa Bruce will take us to the Family Swim at the YMCA after dinner . Stay tuned because I am going to try to learn how to do neat pictures on the blog soon. I also have been asked by a saved friend who wants to become a better soulwinner to do a word study on how many times the Bible uses the term "eternal life". I guess that will be our nap time project. Well everyone is asking for breakfast. Bye for now

The New Year Oh My!!!

Well it's a new year and I have a new friend that has encouraged me to blog... So here we go. Over the holidays we as a family have made it a point to have different people over for lunch. No school, no time limits and lots of good friends. My first born son Quinten had a friend over for lunch and the friend was told to be polite in all things. When I asked the boy if he wanted "FROZEN" pizza,as carefully as he could without sounding rude he replied "Yes but my mom usually cooks it". Kids are so cute and I just love to hear all the things they say and do. Well Patrice I guess I did this thanks for all your help kid.
