Ladies Ladies Ladies

I have had the wonderful opportunity to "entertain" the ladies. My Grandmother, Vivian is 84 years old. My Great Aunt Lou Lou is 81 years old. And my very dear friend Edith is 79 years old. Vivian and Lou Lou are visiting from Michigan this week and I have been very blessed by these ladies so much. We can learn so much from Senior Saints. The things that we talk about and the places that we go have taught me so much about life and I am very thankful. Here was our week.

Monday I took the ladies to Spaghetti Warehouse for lunch and then shopping in Naperville. Tuesday evening the ladies came for dinner at our house. On Wednesday the kids had piano and the ladies seemed to really enjoy that. Today my mom took the ladies to Red Robin for lunch. Tomorrow I will take Vivian to the airport (she is flying to Florida for the winter) and my step dad will drive Lou Lou home to Michigan. If you ever get a chance spent some time with the senior population you will be blessed.

I don't know when I can post again. Our computer is acting up real bad since the last storm. We are going to have to get to the bottom of that this weekend. We have started school last week and all is going well. I have to run for now. Hopefully I can post again soon.

A Shelter in the Time of Storm

I just want to Praise the Lord for good friends in a time of need. As we were going to bed on Thursday night we heard what sounded like a gun shot outside our bedroom window. As the loud noise sounded all the power in the house blacked out. The rain was coming down so hard and so fast my husband and I both ran to the basement and started bailing water. Because we had no sump pump we found ourselves getting up and bailing every hour all night long. I wasn't sure what I was going to do, because when we lose power we lose everything we lose water ( we are on a well and septic) we lose toilet and of course lights.
Friday morning the kids and I "checked in" to a beautiful bed and breakfast called Lake Lindahl. The water from the creek behind Gina's house was so high that we were calling it Lake Lindahl. Josh was actually able to put a fishing boat in the water. You should have seen the way he floated that boat in the water. Being a house guest at the Lindahl is like staying at a five star hotel. I felt a little guilty when Gina brought me coffee at my bed side this morning. We checked in to the motel at 8:30 a.m. Friday morning and we checked out on Saturday after soul winning. I have to say I was not thrilled to see the power go out(for 48 hours)but it sure was fun to move in with such a good friend. I can't describe how thankful I am for such a great friend. Thanks to Bill for the use of his generator no food was lost. Gina I love you. Your the best!!!!! Thank you so much. Well the power is on and I have to get ready for Sunday. I hope everyone has a great weekend.

My Sweet Little Angel

As I put my kids to bed tonight the Lord gave me a extra special blessing. I had gone through the stories and the night night prays as we do every night. (it is also a blessing to listen to my husband pray with our kids before bed time. It will warm your heart all over again). I had decided to take a warm bath. After my bath I peaked in my daughter's room and here is what I saw. Paige had all her babies (dolls) lined up on the side of her crib. Each baby had a blanket of her own. And each baby was listening to mommy Paige read them a story. It was soooo cute. About half way through the story Paige stopped reading and put one of the babies binkies back into the dolls mouth. She made sure that EACH baby was properly covered up with a blanket and she continued to read. I was so thrilled as I watched this from afar (for about 10 minutes I couldn't help it). I am so blessed to have a little girl. I love the pink and purple everything. I love to dress her in her "pretty dress". I love the bows and ribbons. God has been so good to us to give us Paige. But what I love that most is that I have the opportunity to raise up in the Lord someone who is going to (by God's Grace) know her role and nurture her children. My husband and I pray that Paige will some day be a wife and mother and she will raise Godly children. In a dark and dying world we need more woman who will stay were God wants them to be at home raising children. I love to watch even my two year old "mother" her babies. "Thank You Lord for my children and for allowing me to train them for such a short time in the things of YOU". In Jesus name Amen I am truly blessed.

Mission Organization Came a Day Early

We have had a very full day. There have been so many things that I have wanted to get done before I start school and I just have had such a busy summer that there just has not been the time to complete them. This morning about 9:30 am I received the call that any girl would be DELIGHTED to receive. It was Miss Organization (aka Gina). She asked my what my day was looking like and if I wanted help with my little list of things to do. If anyone has ever had Gina come to your house you know that I would be a FOOL to turn down such a generious offer. I just love Gina and the heart that she has to help others. We went through all the toys, we cleaned out all the kitchen drawers and we de-cluttered the counters in the kitchen. We also were able to go through my daughters clothes and now only the things that fit her are in her drawers. Words can not express to you how much I love Gina and how thankful I am that she came to be a blessing to me today. In a world of self centered people Gina stands out of the crowd. I can't thank her enough for all she has done for me today and over the years. Thank You Gina I love you. I'm not done with the things on my list but I have a great start. I was very blessed today because Mission Organization came to my house day early.

I also was able to help some friends with their insurance needs today. My daughter had speech the kids all had a blast playing together all day. Bill was working late so they were able to stay for dinner. All and all it was a good and productive day. Thank You Lord for another day of a good life.

The Strike is Over

Last Sunday night I sat down to update my blog and after 45 minutes of typing I was logged off and not able to post. The Bible says that at some time you will became offended, well it's official my computer has offended me. I have forgiven the device and I'm now back to blogging. So many things have happened since my last post I could not possibly post it all.

Quinten left for Oregon on Thursday and returned on Monday. I cried my eyes out the whole time he was gone. Everything went well and he is home safe.

Paige is talking more and more. I'm so very thankful the Lord choose to give us a girl. I just love the pony tails and the dolls and all the pink and purple. She LOVES to fold laundry and help unload the dishwasher. I can't believe how big she has become.

We had a wonderful date last Friday and I miss the time we have alone. The dates we get the best. We went to Pop belly Sandwiches. Yummy

Quin was talking to Trish about meeting Patch the Pirate. Quin's life long goal is to meet Patch the Pirate and to go on the Jolly Rodger. He is so cute about it. He had 2000 question all about the encounter I pray we get a chance to do that before he is too old to be excited about it. He asked my husband if he had ever met Patch the Pirate my husband said he did when he was 19 years old. Quin then wanted to know how old I was , When Sam said "That would have made me 13" Quin thought that was so funny. He said "WOW" "Patch the Pirate must be like 100 years old." Kids are so funny. I guess it's all prospective.

A Good Day

Iam blessed with such a wondrful family. This morning I woke up to some very soft whispering and my husband telling me to stay in bed. After I fell back to sleep I was awaken with a soft kiss on the cheek and BREAKFAST IN BED, I couldn't believe my eyes. I was served coffee, pancakes, an egg, some OJ, and best of all strawberries from the yard. It's not Mother's Day. It's not my birthday. I am just plain blessed with a wonderful husband and two wonderful children.

After breakfast Sam mowed the grass and I finished up with laundry. This afternoon we met with Miss Jule for some very helpful hints on the new school year. (If you get a chance talk to Miss Julie she is a very wise woman on ways to improve your teaching and she is willing to help our children in school.) This evening we out for dinner in Wilmington and to the park so the kids can play. We are now getting ready to put little one to bed and prepare last minite packing for the Lord's day. The Sunday school bag and the diaper bag are almost ready to go. I have to finish up with lunch and get my pie ready for the Fellowship tomarrow night. May each one of you have a very special Lords day. I am thankful for such a good life.

Our world traveler Quinten went to the MVB yesterday to get his state-ID because he is going to Oregon next we for five days with his grandparents.
